The Twelve Days of Christmas
Behold,
I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people;
for to you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is
Christ the Lord. Luke 2
CHRISTMAS EVE - 5PM A
classic Christmas service of caroling, reading the Christmas Story to
the children, and Holy Communion. Celebrate Christ as the center
of Christmas by starting off the celebration with worship!
CHRISTMAS DAY - 10AM This
year the Feast of the Incarnation falls on a Sunday, so we will be
worshipping at 10am. This will be a simple, a capella
service with Holy Communion, focused on the mystery and joy of the
Incarnation. No classes will meet that morning.
THE HOLY NAME - NEW YEAR’S DAY - 10AM New
Year’s Day falls on Sunday as well this year, which is the Feast of the
Holy Name in our Church calendar. We gather to celebrate the name
of Jesus, announced by the Angel Gabriel and conferred by Joseph and
Mary at the temple. The name Jesus is the Greek form of the Old
Testament name Joshua, which means “The Lord Saves”. No classes
will meet that morning.
EVE OF EPIPHANY - THURSDAY, JANUARY 5TH - 7PM Complete
the Twelve Days with a Service of Light and the coming of the Wise
Men. Kids help out as angels and shepherds, and the Three Wise
Men show up singing! This service is an informal, joyous
celebration that the Light of the World has come.
